TG4 CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEWS

TG4 Ulster Junior Championship

Derry v Antrim; Ballerin, 2pm

Antrim will be hoping to win this competition for the first time since 2022.

The Saffrons were recently crowned Lidl NFL Division 4 champions and have been in terrific form in 2025.

TG4 Ulster Intermediate Championship

Fermanagh v Tyrone; Kinawley, 2pm

Fermanagh will look to regroup quickly after losing out to Antrim in the Lidl NFL Division 4 Final.

But the main goal of promotion to Division 3 was achieved and that will have the 2024 TG4 All-Ireland Junior champions in good form as they prepare for a return to Intermediate fare.

It’s a stiff test for Fermanagh when they take on Tyrone, who will want a reaction after suffering relegation to Division 2.

The Red Hands will also feel they’re leading contenders for the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate crown, after contesting last year’s final.

The winners of this preliminary round tie will take on Down in the Ulster semi-final, with Monaghan and Cavan on the other end of the draw.

Both semi-finals are due to be played on Sunday May 4.

Fermanagh: A Haren; S McQuade (capt.), C Clarke, E Keenan; N Boyle, C Murphy, C Bogue; S Feeley, M McGloin; A O’Brien, C Martin, L Maguire; J Doonan, E Smyth, N McManus.

LIDL TITLES FOR CAVAN AND ANTRIM

It was good weekend for Cavan and Antrim as they claimed the LIDL National League Division 3 and 4 titles respectively however there was no joy for Armagh and Fermanagh who both lost out.

Armagh lost to Kerry on Saturday 4-14 to 0-11. The comprehensive win gave Kerry their 13th LIDL National League title.

Cavan were in action today (Sunday) and goals from Lauren Mc Veety and Ellie Brady helped them to a 2-10 to a 0-9 victory over Wexford in the Division 3 decider.

Antrim and Fermanagh met in Clones in the Division 4 final. This game was tight throughout however a goal from substitute Aoibheann Monaghan proved to be the winning score as the Saffrons won 2-7 to 0-11.

All sides will now turn their attentions to the Ulster championship.

FOUR SIDES BIDDING FOR ALL IRELAND GLORY

Armagh, Cavan, Antrim and Fermanagh are all in LIDL National League finals this weekend and at least one title is coming to the province as Antrim and Fermanagh meet in the Division 4 decider.

There’s a familiar feel to the Division 1 Final, with Armagh and Kerry set to go head to head for a second successive year in the top flight decider.

And this will be a third Lidl National League Final between the counties in four years, as they also contested the 2022 Division 2 decider.

So, will Kerry gain revenge on Armagh after losing last year’s Lidl NFL Division 1 Final, and move ahead of Cork in the all-time roll of honour with a 13th Division 1 title? Or will Armagh get the better of the Kingdom again at Croke Park to claim their second crown? The action is live from Croke Park, on TG4 at 5pm on Saturday.

On Sunday, attention switches to the Divisions 3 and 4 Finals.

With promotion to Division 2 already secured, Cavan and Wexford will go head to head at the Integral GAA Grounds in Drogheda in the Division 3 Final, while the Division 4 decider between Antrim and Fermanagh is a repeat of the 2019 Final, when Fermanagh were victorious.

Antrim and Fermanagh will aim to lift the silverware on offer when they clash at St. Tiernach’s Park, Clones.
