TG4 CHAMPIONSHIP

Armagh held off a late challenge from Donegal to win round 1 of the TG4 senior championship 0-10 to 1-4. Blaithin Mackin was in superb form and her first half tally of 4 points helped the Orchard girls to a 0-8 to 0-1 half time lead. Donegal out scored Armagh in the second half 1-3 to 0-2 but time ran out for the Tir Chonaill challenge.

In the opening game in the TG4 junior championship Antrim put their recent league final defeat to Louth behind then as they ran out 8 points winners against Derry. Full time score Derry 2-8 Antrim 1-19.

U20’s

In the U20’s there were wins for Monaghan and Tyrone. The Farney side defeated Fermanagh 5-9 to 2-5 while Tyrone had a goal to spare away to Down, 2-4 to 1-4.

MINORS

Monaghan cruised to victory in the U18 Bronze semi-final. The beat Fermanagh 4-18 to 1-9 in Belcoo.

U16’s

In the U16 finals there were victories for Cavan, Armagh and Derry.  Cavan defeated Tyrone in an unbelievable Platinum decider, 2-18 to 3-12. In the Gold final Armagh beat neighbours Monaghan 0-14 to 1-8 and Derry got the better of Donegal in the Silver final. The bronze semi final between Fermanagh and Down went to extra time before the Erne girls won 1-14 to 2-9.
