2 SCHOOLS IN ALL IRELAND FINALS THIS WEEK

Our Ulster U16 B and C winners will go chasing silverware this week as they play in the LIDL PPS All Ireland finals.

 

First up on Wednesday are Bailieborough Community College who play Limerick side Scoil Mhuire and Ide, Newcastlewest.

The following day, Thursday St. Patrick’s Academy, Dungannon will play St. Mary’s, Macroom on the B final.

 

ULGFA would like to wish both schools all the best in their respective finals.

U20 SCHOOLS SEMI FINALS

The Ulster U20 A, B and C winners will be in All Ireland semi final action this week.

First up is our A winner Loreto, Cavan who will meet Maynooth Education Campus on Wednesday.

The following day, Thursday B winners St. Columba’s, Glenties take on Eureka, Kells.

Last and by no means least our C champions, Bailieboro Community College will play Colaiste Bhride, Carnew on Friday.

ALL STARS AT UUJ

The ULGFA PPS All Star squad were guests of UUJ today. The thirty strong squad played an in house game and were then treated to dinner and a jersey from UUJ and EOS. ULGFA would like to thank Paul Rouse (UUJ Head of Gaelic Games) for facilitating the visit.

 

CONGRESS WEEKEND

Donegal LGFA will host the National Congress in the Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th March. Hundreds of delegates from all around the world will descend on Letterkenny this weekend to review the year and vote on motions to make changes to the rule book.
Current President, Michael Naughton’s will hand over the top job to Westmeath’s Trina Murray after 4 years at the helm of the LFGA.
ULGFA wish Donegal lots of success with the Congress and hope that Michael takes a well earned rest.

MFC Schools All Stars Announced

Initally 170 players were selected by their Schools, and after two rounds of Trails the Final 30 have been named.

This years squad are spread across the Province with 23 Schools and 8 Counties making the Final Panel. Topping the Leaderboard are our U20 A Winners Loreto Cavan who have three players named.

This is also a second All Star for AineMcAllister, Katie Dowds, Hanna Donaghy and Cliodhna Logan.

The girls will play an in-house game in UUJ on Thursday 6th March and will also receive their Awards along with a unique one off MFC Sports kit at a Banquet in Canavan’s, Garvaghey on Friday 21st March.
