CONNOR LEADS KNOCKBRIDE TO TITLE

AIB ULSTER INTERMEDIATE FINAL

 

Knockbride 3-13 Brigid O’Neills 1-6

Player of the match Abbi Connor contributed 1-6 for Knockbride as the Cavan girls overcame Brigid O Neills 3-13 to 1-6 to lift the Ulster Intermediate crown.

Knockbride had a dream start, hitting 2-4 before Brigid O’Neills opened their account. Rebecca Davey and Sarah Mc Cabe scored the goals. Machailla Mc Cabe sent over a couple of points for BON’s but these were quickly cancelled by the Cavan champs. Jayne Drury and Erin Cassidy then reduced the lead. With 25 minutes gone Lorna Mc Guirk netted for BON’s however this major was quickly cancelled as player of the match Abbi Connor found the net at the other end. Another Connor point left the Breffni side ahead at the break 3-8 to 1-4.

After an exchange of points early in the second half, Knockbride dominated the remainder of the half, sending over another three unanswered points to win by 13 points.
