MFC ULSTER U20A PPS FINAL

St. Mary’s, Magherafelt v Loreto, Cavan
Tuesday 18th February 7-30pm – Brewster Park, Enniskillen
On Tuesday the U20A final, the ladies equivalent of the Mc Rory Cup sees St. Mary’s, Magherafelt take on Loreto, Cavan.
For the Derry school this is chance to put the heartache of last season behind them. In last year’s Ulster semi-final Our Lady’s, Castleblayney won by a point and then went on to win the All-Ireland title. This season, after topping their group St. Mary’s met the Blayney girls in another semi decider however this time, they were victorious 3-6 to 2-8. Jemma Shivers will captain the side which contains eight county minors, four from Derry, three from Antrim and one from Tyrone.
Loreto also topped their group and beat Our Lady’s and St. Patrick’s, Knock in the semi final 6-9 to 1-7. All the team have tasted All Ireland success as Loreto have won the last three U16A All Ireland titles. In captain Ellie Brady they have an exceptional talent. She is the current Ulster Young Player of the Year and a member of the Cavan senior squad. Sarah Clarke is also a member of the Breffni senior squad. Aine Shannon manages the side but has an astute selector in Conor Maguire who knows this grade in Ulster inside out.
The game throws in at 7-30pm and will be streamed live on the Ulster Ladies Gaelic facebook page.
