Eileen Jones last presentation as Ulster Ladies President was to the Carrickmore Minor captain as the Tyrone champions just about held on to see off a spirited second half come back from Monaghan's Emmet Og.
This game turned out to be the proverbial game of two halves. Carrickmore dominated the first half and deservedly lead at the break 2-5 to 0-2. In the second half Emmet Og upped the tempo and held Carrickmore to a single point however the Monaghan champions were guilty of several wides and kicking the ball into the goal keepers hands. When Maggie Farrelly blew the final whistle just 4 points separated the sides but it Carrickmore who went home champions. Their full back Aoibhinn Daly was named player of the match.
