Semi Finals Weekend

  • Oct 10,2019

This weekend sees the Ulster club semi finals down for decision with 6 mouth watering ties on offer.

First up is the intermediates deciders which take place on Saturday. Kilcoo of Down will have home advantage against a seasoned St. Paul's side. The mourne champions will be looking to emulate the recent success of their male counterparts while Belfast's best will prove tough opposition. Kinawley and O Neill's should be a cracker. The Fermanagh champions lost last years provincial decider against Emmet Og who in turn had beaten O Neill's in the Monaghan final after a replay. O Neill's enjoyed success at the recent All Ireland sevens and are managed by a Fermanagh native who should know the Kinawley girls pretty well. This one will go all the way to the wire.

On Sunday its the turn of the junior and seniors to book their place in the provincial finals at the end of October.

In the junior competition Edendork will have home advantage against a youthful St. Brigid's from Monaghan. In the other decider Saffron champions Con Magee's make the long journey to west Donegal to face Naomh Mhuire.

Most eyes on Sunday will be on the senior deciders as the provincial big guns have made the last four. Tyrone champions and former Ulster champions St. Macartan's head north to meet Termon who are also recent provincial and All Ireland champions. This is a real clash of heavy weights with the winner having a realistic chance of going all the way this season. In the other semi Bredagh come south to meet reigning champions Donaghmoyne. The addition of a couple of Donegal county players to Bredagh will be a massive help to them as they take on Ulster's most successful club side in Donaghmoyne.
