Armagh 5-14 Monaghan 1-12

Armagh hit five goals as they put Monaghan to the sword and advanced to the Ulster senior final were they will play either Donegal or Cavan.

The Orchard girls had a dream start with Aoife Mc Coy netting after just 19seconds. Another three points were added before Monaghan opened their account in the 10th minute courtesy of a Cora Courtney point. Armagh then had a five minute purple patch hitting an unanswered 1-5, the goal from Niamh Reel. Monaghan to their credit found a small bit of form and in the second quarter they outscored Armagh 1-5 to a point, the Farney goal from a Cora Courtney penalty. Half time score Armagh 2-9 Monaghan 1-6.

During the second half there was thunder and lightning but more importantly there were further goals, all for Armagh. Eve Lavery struck in the 11th minute, Aoife Mc Coy in the 17th and Blaithin Mackin in the 29th. Monaghan did hit six points, 2 in injury time but they were mere consolation as Armagh deservedly progressed to the final decider.
